Everyone wants to feel good about the appearance of their smile! Even minor imperfections that might be practically invisible to others have a way of sticking out like a sore tooth, ahem, thumb, when you’re looking in the mirror. Fortunately, our cosmetic dentists can help! Dental veneers are a straightforward way to get the smile you’ve been dreaming of. Veneers are very thin, tooth-shaped and colored prosthetics; you can think of them a bit like a permanent mask for your teeth. They attach to the front part of your teeth, giving them an even shape and appearance. Even better, they’re stain-resistant, so you won’t have to worry about any discoloration – and they can last a decade or more with proper care.

Veneers generally take two appointments. In the first appointment, we’ll give you a thorough cleaning and Dr. Gulati will remove a very small amount of enamel from the teeth that are being treated. This is to allow the dental veneers to lay perfectly on your teeth so they look natural. Then we’ll take dental impressions, which will be sent off to the lab. We’ll send you home with a set of temporary veneers to wear until your permanent ones are ready. Once they are, we’ll have you come back in and check the fit of your veneers. If they’re a perfect fit and finish, we’ll bond them onto your teeth using a dental cement. It’s that easy!

Dental veneers are a cosmetic treatment, so they can’t be used for teeth that are seriously damaged. However, if you do have damaged teeth, we offer restorative procedures like BPA-free composite fillings and dental crowns. As long as your teeth are healthy and finished growing, you’re likely a good candidate. If you’re an East Austin resident who’s been dreaming of a new smile, contact us today!
