If you’re reluctant or self-conscious about wearing braces but need to straighten your teeth, Invisalign might be your answer to a perfect smile. Invisalign aligners are made from clear plastic, making them virtually invisible to the naked eye. Unlike conventional braces, they’re removable, allowing you to eat whatever you want. Similar to conventional braces, Invisalign can treat many dental conditions including: crowding, spacing, under bite, overbite, and cross bite. If you think Invisalign may be what you’ve been searching for, give your dentist in Austin a call to find out if Invisalign is right for you!

How Does Invisalign Work?

At Enamel Dentistry, we begin the Invisalign process by creating a specialized treatment plan ensuring a healthy mouth. Then, we’ll make a special mold of your teeth to ensure your aligners fit your teeth perfectly. For the duration of your treatment, you’ll switch to a new aligner every two weeks. Each aligner will adjust your teeth slightly, slowly moving them into the desired position and preparing them for the next aligner. We will give you 2 aligners at a time, so you’ll only have to stop by every 4-6 weeks to pick up your new aligners. Enamel will even give you a checkup to make sure everything is going according to plan. It is important to remember not to skip aligners in an effort to speed up treatment, as that will do more harm than good. The treatment can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the amount your teeth need to be moved.

Advantages of Invisalign

  • cosmetically pleasing
  • easily removable
  • healthier teeth and gums
  • easily replaced if lost or broken

As your dentist in Austin we will assess the need for a retainer after your treatment is completed. Your last Invisalign aligner can serve as a retainer for as long as you need it, giving you an invisible and comfortable retainer.
